What’s your go-to carry revolver and what makes it your top choice? I’d love to hear from those who rely on wheelguns every day about what they find most effective in real-world situations.

Model 19-4 Smith & Wesson 2.5", easy call.

Among my small assortment of wheel guns, I own 2 Charter Arms revolvers and I can truthfully say I would never carry either for personal defense. So many defects built in. Horrible fit and finish with lots of sharp edges. NFG.

I have several SA old west 6 shooters from .32-20, 44-40 and .45 Colt, but when I packed a wheel gun for personal defense, depending on what I was wearing, it was mainly my Colt Police Positive in .38 S&W. I also have two H&R revolvers in .32 Long (one blue the other stainless) that I've taken on occasion, but during hot months when I'm wearing shorts and thin tee shirt, I've take my Hopkin & Allen break top (small) in .32 short. Anymore at work I throw a Glock 43 in .380 in my "Murse' (man purse).

No real-world situations encountered or expected here. I live in southwest Utah. No permits required and all the fellas I know in this small city either have something on them or in their vehicle or both. I'm pretty sure a good majority of the population here is armed and I believe the bad guys know this about Utah, so I feel safe enough to only carry a NAA 1860 Earl with a conversion cylinder when I go rockhounding in the desert or fossil hunting in the mountains. You never know when a rabid rabbit or ticked off rattler is going to cross your path!
In all seriousness, I moved out here in late 2019 from a city in Maryland that was only 14 miles south of Washington DC. The crime rate in all the years I lived there went from almost zero in 1960, to race and drug related murder and full-auto gunfire in what used to be our relatively safe and peaceful neighborhood just 10 years back. I still remember my dad leaving the car keys in the ignition of the old DeSoto in the driveway.
The crime rate here is what I remember from 1960 when I was 11 years old. I doubt I will live long enough to see the rate here get anywhere close to that 2019 rate in MD but maybe I should think about packing something anyway. The Earl would only tick somebody off unless it was a headshot, so my choices are limited to BP revolvers. Those choices are a Walker, an 1858 Remington, a LeMat, and a Starr. The Walker and Remington have conversion cylinders but the other two are strictly BP. Looks like I might need to do some shopping....

The only revolver I've carried was this kimber k6 357 4" barrel.
As far as crime goes in Utah growing up we would hardly ever lock the house or car in Holiday . Utah I know always had crime but very rarely heard about a shooting or burglary. Heck I remember shooting guns in the front yard in the late 70's and nobody ever called the police.
Now living in Rose park its not my child hood city any more. Open drug dealing and use, prostitution in the park.
Had my car broken into twice. Garage broken into and camper broken into.
I guess things really started to change in the 90's. I think back then the police would pat you on the back for a self defense shooting. Now with the Democrat mayor we have its more like Seattle and the criminal would be told he was the victim being thwarted by a crazed citizen with a gun.
