I once went home empty-handed two years in a row because I was too picky. Passed on good animals holding out for giants that never showed but this year I'm being more realistic about my expectations. Anyone else need to adjust their standards and just enjoy the hunt more

That all depends on the tag and area and success rate of the unit. Also hunting pressure. Low success rates and high hunting pressure and bad conditions is the recipe for not being very picky in my book.
Now if I have a limited entry tag I'm certainly not going to be shooting the 1st 2 point or spike that comes along opening day. Maybe on the last day 😄

Seeing animals get away taught me more about regret than patience. Taking a good, moral shot makes even if i don't hit it.

Being perfect is rare and you still have to work to get what you want.
