Honest about bailing or make up excuses?

Do you just tell people straight up "don't feel like it" or do you make up reasons? I respect honesty but sometimes a little white lie is easier. What's your approach? Anyone brave enough to just say no without explaining?

I'm pretty upfront these days. If I'm worn out, I just say so. Back in the day, I'd make up excuses, and they'd pile up. Honesty was what saved me from those awkward chats later.
